Rajdeep Singh

Raji started working at Taylor Bracewell on the 1st July 2019. Raji had finished sixth form when she decided that she wanted to explore law after having an interest in this for many years.

Raji had previously studied Business Studies for 4 years, and had only really had a passion for business. After leaving school with 11 GSCES’s and 4 A- levels, including a distinction in Business, Raji chose to join Taylor Bracewell. This allowed Raji to merge both of her passions and work towards a career that she is not only passionate about but can also see herself doing for the foreseeable future. Raji has always been interested in the apprenticeship scheme so when she came across the opportunities that Taylor Bracewell offer, she knew that the job role was for her to start as a foundation to her career, to then hopefully progress in, in the future.

What area of the business do you work in?

As I am an Apprentice, I have started by working in the post room as well as being trained on reception. Here I have the opportunity to understand how the business works and how procedures are followed from the ground up. Although, I have started by working in the post room, I aspire and strive to work my way up to a department where I have the opportunity to show the management team my abilities and skills to carry out responsibilities efficiently as well as effectively. Throughout my school life I have always worked hard to become better at whatever I do, and even now throughout my work life I continue with the same attitude of striving to better myself and progress further.

What is the best part of working for Taylor Bracewell?

The best part of working for Taylor Bracewell for me is how everyone gave me a very warm welcome and made me feel very comfortable and settled. For me this is very important as it can be very nerve racking starting a new job with new colleagues. As well as this, I love how the firm provides me with an abundance of opportunities and pathways for me to consider and take on. As giving me these options, allows me to identify and understand what I want to do in the future, therefore enabling me to further my career whilst broadening my horizons in the law firm.

What was the main reason you got into law?

Being an Apprentice, I find myself helping everyone in the business when necessary. This gives me great satisfaction knowing that I have helped someone no matter how big or small the job is. It gives me great joy knowing that, that one job I might have done has lifted a burden off of someone else's responsibilities or has made them smile!

Although some jobs may seem simple or menial, I believe that any job handled efficiently all plays a part into the greater success of the law firm.  When working on reception, I find it the most rewarding when I have the opportunity to fulfill the clients needs and guide them when necessary. For example, I feel satisfied and content when I have made a client feel comfortable to the best of my ability, whether that’s helping them with an issue or offering them a cup of tea! Anything I can do to help and accommodate to our clients’ needs then I am more than happy to do!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, along with listening to music, travelling and socialising.
