It has been confirmed that the Hilton Hotel on Furnival Road will close its doors for the last time on 15th December 2019.
Hilton guests will need to find alternative accommodation for their festive fun and approximately 100 employees now face an uncertain employment future. The chain has made a statement that it will be working closely with employees to help them to “understand their best options” but with Christmas around the corner, there is no doubt that employees will be worried.
A spokeswoman for Hilton has announced that it has managed the property on behalf of the owning company for a number of years. She continued to state that the closure is as a result of the owning company surrendering its lease and is not a reflection of the chain’s operation.
