Free Wills Month

Here at Taylor Bracewell, we aim to give back to the local communities as much as possible, one way we do this is by taking part in Free Wills Month which brings together well-respected charities and raises money for them. This is a scheme where for one month of the year we write simple Wills or update Wills for anyone over the age of 55. In return, it is hoped that a gift is made in the Will to one of the charities.

An up to date Will written by a Solicitor ensures your wishes are expressed and avoids leaving difficult decisions and legal complications for your loved ones. A Will makes it possible to provide for the family which is the reason is so important for every adult to have an up-to-date Will.

We are proud to say that we took part in the March 2021 Free Wills Month campaign. This was the best Campaign run by Free Wills Month as a grand total of £15,960,310 was raised in future income for the charities, £157,700 of that raised by the Wills, Probate & Trusts team here at Taylor Bracewell. 

How can I take part?

Unfortunately, this year’s Free Wills Month has ended, however, we try and take part in the campaign every year, so make sure to come back in March of 2022 where we hope to be accepting appointments again. During Free Wills Month there are limited appointments that are allocated on a first come first served basis. Once all of these appointments are taken the scheme closes, even if it is before the end of the month. 

We often see people asking if the Free Wills Month charity keeps a copy of your Will we can confirm that they do not get a copy of any of the Wills made. However, they do receive a copy of the confidential declaration form. This includes questions relating to age, gender and whether a gift has been left to at least one of the Free Will Month charities. Once your Will is drafted you will receive a signed copy of the Will and the original then goes into our secure Wills storage.
