How can Taylor Bracewell help those suffering from Alzheimer’s?
The staff here at Taylor Bracewell meet many people who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other similar illnesses. Some of our staff are Dementia Champions and Dementia Friends who are equipped to help those who are living with the disease. We are friendly and compassionate and will speak in short sentences using a soft tone and using simple words to assist you in understanding. We won’t boggle you with legal words and meanings. We are patient and happy to go over things to ensure you receive the best advice possible to enable you to make your own informed decisions. Our interview rooms are located on the ground floor of our building. They are quiet with minimal distractions from noise or displays on the wall.
We understand that no two people’s symptoms are the same and we need to be flexible and adjust to meet your own personal needs.
Many people who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or similar illnesses will want to get their legal affairs in order. You may wish to consider making a Power of Attorney. This is a legal document which enables someone else to act on your behalf and make decisions for you if you are unable to do so yourself. This may be because you are either physically or mentally incapable of doing so.
There are several types of Powers of Attorney and the most common ones are Financial and Property Lasting Powers of Attorney, Health and Welfare Lasting Powers of Attorney and Business Powers of Attorney. These documents will enable those who you appoint to make decisions on your behalf in respect of all aspects of your life in respect of your financial and personal needs.
