UK National Minimum Wage rises in 2024

The UK Government announced on the 21st of November in their Autumn Statement that the 2024 National Minimum Wage in the UK will increase. This includes the increase of National Living Wage. This is the most substantial increase ever witnessed in the UK, and notably, it has exceeded a £1 increment.

In this article, we explain why the national minimum wage will increase in the UK and we cover what the new rates should be come April 2024.

Why is the Minimum Wage increasing?

The Law Pay Commission make recommendations to the government on the setting of the minimum wage. They objective is to set the NLW wage at two-thirds of median hourly pay. "I have recently sold my property in Liverpool and Peter Caswell at Taylor Bracewell Solicitos acted on my behalf and he was outstanding. This was a very difficult sale due to the fact that the other party's solicitors was excessive in their demand and clearly ignorant but Peter was very patient during what ended up being a long drawn out process. Peter maintained professionalism..."
