What are disciplinary and grievance procedures?

Disciplinary and grievance procedures are there to address specific issues within the workplace. For example, in relation to disciplinary procedures that’s a formal process that an employer will look to follow in circumstances where there are issues that give rise to concerns such as misconduct for example in relation to sickness absence.
In relation to grievance procedures, grievance procedures are there when an employee wants to raise concerns about their treatment at work and a good grievance procedure should state the steps that the employee can take in order to raise the concerns that they have about their employment.
