What is redundancy?

Redundancy is a potentially fair reason for dismissal, as long as it’s a genuine redundancy situation.
For example, if it’s a place of work that’s closing down or the employer has put in place new processes at work that made the business more efficient and therefore there’s less need for employees. These are two examples of what I would classify as a suitable reason for redundancy.
